This guide explains how to configure Blue Iris to upload motion-triggered video clips to Camlocus using FTP.

Uploaded motion clips will appear in Camlocus:

      Alerts

Step 1 – Get FTP Credentials from Camlocus

In Camlocus, open:

      Dashboard -> Cameras -> Select Camera -> Actions -> Details -> Video Configurations -> FTPS

Copy the following details:

• Server address
• Port
• Username
• Password

Step 2 – Configure FTP Server in Blue Iris

In Blue Iris, open:

      Settings -> FTP Servers -> Add

Configure FTP server:

      Server Type: FTPS (auth TLS)
      Server Address: your Camlocus FTP server
      Port: 21
      Login: Camlocus FTP username
      Password: Camlocus FTP password
      Base Folder: /

Enable:

      Passive transfer mode

Click:

      OK

Step 3 – Configure FTP Backup

In Blue Iris, open:

      Settings -> Storage -> New -> FTP Backup -> Configure

Enable:

      Use FTP to backup clips to the Internet

Select the Camlocus FTP server.

Recommended setting:

      After upload: Delete file

Click:

      OK

Step 4 – Configure Camera Short Name

Open the camera settings in Blue Iris.

In the Short name field enter:

      ID-123

Replace 123 with the Camlocus Camera ID.

You can find the Camera ID in Camlocus:

      Dashboard -> Cameras -> ID column

This is required so Camlocus can match uploaded motion clips with the correct camera.

Step 5 – Configure Recording

In Blue Iris camera settings, open:

      Record

Enable:

      Queue new clips for backup

Disable:

      Combine or cut video

Recommended file format:

      MP4

Recommended video compression:

      Direct-to-disk

Click:

      OK

Result

When Blue Iris detects motion, it will record a motion clip and upload it to Camlocus.

The uploaded motion clip will appear in:

      Camlocus -> Alerts
