Cloud Devices are local adapters used to connect cameras from a local network to Camlocus without exposing cameras directly to the internet.
Step 1 – Create Cloud Device
Open:
Cloud Devices -> Add
Enter:
- Name
- Linux distribution
Click:
Save
Step 2 – Install Adapter
Use the generated unique key during installation.
Recommended operating system: Ubuntu
Step 3 – Confirm Device Status
After installation, the device should appear online in:
Cloud Devices
Step 4 – Scan Network Cameras
Use Cloud Device details to scan the local network and detect available cameras.
Step 5 – Assign Camera to Cloud Device
Open:
Cameras -> Actions -> Edit -> Settings -> Video Icon
Set:
Video Source: Cloud Device (Adapter)
Then select:
- Cloud Device
- detected camera IP address
- local RTSP URL
Troubleshooting
If cameras are not detected:
- confirm the camera is on the same network
- ping the camera IP from SSH console
- run network scan again in Camlocus
